Any construction or repair projects that must comply with US Military Standard 1553 will need the right cables, connectors, couplers and assembly packaging designed specifically for these tasks.
Interconnect Systems sources an extensive list of 1553-compliant products that were developed to meet the needs of most aerospace applications, with a focus on design flexibility and high performance ratings. The products also feature high packaging density and significant weight savings.
The box couplers Interconnect distributes are ideal for aerospace functions, but can also be used for other military and commercial applications that require 1553 compliance. Virtually any environment that demands ruggedness and durability will need couplers that can stand up to the elements.
Features include tin over nickel plating to protect against corrosion typical at high altitudes. Similarly, the company’s 1553 data bus cables are developed with a shielded twisted design used specifically for military and aerospace avionics systems. These cables come in both single- and double-shielded models.
Also available is the basic Mil Spec M17/176-0002 cable.
Even products as small as connectors and terminators must meet specifications and standards established by the US Military. Interconnect offers a twinaxial connector series that meets all necessary requirements, and is available in both threaded couplings and 2-, 3- and 4-lug Bayonet couplings.
These connectors and terminators are ideal for aerospace considering they are lightweight and were built with continuous shield coverage to protect them. Tests even confirm these products feature 1,000 hour salt spray resistance.
Interconnect also offers complete harness assemblies, which comply with every significant data bus requirement established by the US military. Whether these are designed specifically for one application or custom-made based on drawing submitted by customers, they’ll be essential for a wide range of functions.
